Diesel Fuel Doctor to display at Great Lakes Waterway Conference

Diesel Fuel Doctor, a provider of energy-saving products and services to diesel fuel users, will display at the Great Lakes Waterway Conference, February 16-17 in Cleveland, OH. The conference brings together prominent experts from the U.S. Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and many others involved in maritime operations, shipping and transport. Diesel Fuel Doctor will display products from AXI (ALGAE-X International) including a line of LG-X fuel conditioners and the AFC-705 fuel catalyst as solutions to problems facing those who use diesel fuel.

“With DERA implemented, and the use of Tier rated engines more prevalent, fuel management issues are not just a matter of how much fuel is consumed anymore.  Fuel maintenance is becoming as important as engine maintenance for ships carrying cargo on the Great Lakes and the Seaway.  Engine failures are expensive, but nothing compared to the costs associated with un-anticipated downtime.  And with stuff this size, you just can’t get out and push.” said Torre Miller of Diesel Fuel Doctor.

Diesel Fuel Doctor provides cost effective products and services to diesel fuel users to reduce fuel related maintenance costs, fuel consumption and emissions. They sell fuel conditioning products, fuel polishers, fuel catalyst and offer fuel polishing as a service. Diesel Fuel Doctor is located in Grand Ledge, MI. Visit their website at www.dieselfueldoctor.com or call 517.605.5788.

System Spotlight: MTC-1000 Mobile Tank Cleaning Unit

Algae-X MTC-1000 Mobile Tank Cleaning System

Algae-X MTC-1000 Mobile Tank Cleaning System

Today’s Algae-X system spotlight is the MTC-1000 mobile tank cleaning system. The MTC is a three stage Mobile Tank Cleaning System to recondition, stabilize and decontaminate diesel fuel. It efficiently removes water, sludge and sediments that naturally accumulate in tanks. The MTC cleans and restores fuel to its “Clear & Bright” condition. It eliminates fuel “algae” issues, clogged filters and tank sludge, providing Optimal Fuel Quality for Peak Engine Performance and Reliability.

Stage 1: The separator / coalescer removes water and particulate that are easily drained from the system by opening the valve on the bottom of the separator.

Stage 2: The ALGAE-X® Fuel Conditioner reconditions and stabilizes the fuel, reversing the process of fuel deterioration and buildup of tank sludge.

Stage 3: The industrial type water block fine filter removes emulsified water and very fine solids down to 3 microns.

MTC-1000 Mobile Tank Cleaning System Specs

ALGAE-X® MTC Systems are built with industrial quality components mounted on a heavy-duty aluminum cart. A clear suction hose (and rotor sight glass on MTC-1000) show fuel flow and clarity. The large drip tray is designed to prevent spillage. Fuel can be polished without using any consumables by connecting the discharge hose to the quick disconnect bypassing the filter. A pressure gauge is installed on the spin-on filter head to ensure optimal filter usage. The liquid filled stainless steel vacuum gauge monitors the condition of the water separator.

ALGAE-X® Fuel Catalyst (AFC-705) The use of AFC-705 is an essential part of any tank cleaning procedure, to more rapidly and efficiently decontaminate and clean the entire fuel system. AFC-705 removes sludge, slime and bio-fouling from tank walls and baffles that can’t be reached with the suction line. AFC-705 is a full spectrum fuel additive containing combustion catalyst, surfactant, detergent, dispersant, corrosion inhibitor, lubricity enhancers and fuel stabilizer that eliminates the need for expensive toxic biocides.

MTC Options: Digital Flow Meter (highly recommended – measurement of recirculated fuel & performance monitoring)

Algae-X.net Spotlight: Test Reports

Algae-X.net Test Reports pageMany companies boast about their systems and products, but rarely back up their claims with actual data. Algae-X provides all the data we get publically so you can see the results of using Algae-X systems, our patented Fuel Conditioner, and our AFC Fuel Catalyst. All of this information can be found on the Test Reports pages of Algae-X.net.

We have several test reports dedicated to the AFC Fuel Catalyst, and how AFC-705 has dissolved tank sludge and slime commonly found at the bottom of fuel storage tanks, and how the AFC fuel additive boosted mileage and engine performance. Test data from the United States Navy regarding AFC-705, and the Algae-X Fuel Conditioners. You will also find fleet evaluation data, and test reports on our STS Automated Fuel Filtration systems. All this information is available for free download at Algae-X.net.

Algae-X System Spotlight: LG-X 500 Fuel Conditioner

LG-X Magnetic Fuel Conditioner

LG-X 500 Magnetic Fuel Conditioner

Okay, you caught me; the LG-X Fuel conditioner isn’t really a system. A fuel system from Algae-X would include water separators, filtration units, and our patented fuel conditioners. I wanted to feature the LG-X 500 this week since we just finished the Miami International Boat Show. The 500 is our most popular among boaters, it’s used in our FPS-DX series fuel polishing & Transfer systems, and it is equipped standard with the TK-180 mobile fuel tank cleaner. You could say it is one of our MVP components at Algae-X.

Fuel is naturally unstable. Its quality and chemistry are continuously degraded by transportation and storage from refinery to user, oxidation, heat and pressure of engines, pumps and injectors, and by water and microbial contamination. Even when fuel is still clear and bright, microscopic fuel components agglomerate, forming larger clusters of organic compounds.

This continuous process affects combustion and engine performance, causing loss of power, excessive fuel consumption, smoking engines, damage to injection systems, and carbon as well as soot build up in lube oil, emission filters, and catalytic converters. Eventually, filters clog and sludge (algae, gum, tar, varnish, wax, etc.) accumulates in storage tanks.

Buena Veritas CertificationALGAE-X® Technology used in the magnetic fuel conditioners reverses the agglomeration process, optimizing fuel quality by reducing the size and mass of fuel droplets. This provides peak engine performance while extending engine maintenance and filter change intervals and reducing harmful emissions & carbon deposits. ALGAE-X® Fuel Conditioners are self-cleaning, have no moving parts, require no electrical hookup, and are maintenance free.
